Visitors, Workshops and Outings

Educational Outings

We believe that every young person should experience the world beyond the classroom as an essential part of learning and personal development, whatever their age, ability or circumstances. Forest Park Preparatory School places high value on the place and purpose of educational visits. The pupils’ educational experiences are enhanced through an enriching and purposeful programme of trips and outings. These outings span across a vast range, from within the local community to much further afield.

Specialist Workshops and Visitors

All pupils benefit greatly from the hands-on learning experiences they encounter throughout the year. Actors, authors, theatre groups, historians, artists, councilors, community police and magistrates are just a handful of visitors we have welcomed.

You can read a response, below, from children’s author, Robert Bullock, following his visit to Forest Park:

‘Dear everyone,

Thank you for such a brilliant day yesterday. I was made to feel so welcome and the workshops were amazing! I was particularly pleased with the very high standards of work that the children produced! Some highlights were the effective listening of the very young children, the brilliant creative writing produced by Year 1 and 2, the way your 3s and 4s wrote superb scripts for their plays and how well Year 5 and 6 acted out their plays with real flair and enthusiasm! Fantastic!’

Enrichment Days and Themed Weeks

Opportunities are given for the pupils to learn cooperatively, to develop respect for others and to become independent learners. School trips, visiting speakers, and themed days/weeks are scheduled throughout the year and are valuable extensions to the curriculum.
