There has never been a better time to be a teacher, the Minister of State for Schools Nick Gibb, expressed last week.

I have to say that I totally agree with his view and feel that schools are at a very exciting cusp at the moment. The opportunities for teachers are greater now than they have ever been and this is even more the case within the independent sector.

Staff at Forest Park are embracing the new leadership structure at the school and are initiating many new and exciting ideas into their classrooms. Bellevue Education support the school in many areas, but a key feature of their governance is the ability to share good practice among schools within the group. Senior leaders, class teachers, teaching assistants and even office staff regularly meet to discuss how to improve the education experience for the children at Forest Park.

A great advantage of being an independent school is the freedom to adapt and change methods in school and not be governed by the local authority. At Forest Park, we set high expectations and tailor our curriculum to meet the individual needs of the child. We provide a wide range of opportunities for the children to aspire to and achieve in. This enables our children to access different areas of their learning and progress to the best of their ability.

That is why we have established such a great reputation within the local area and why the children move onto secondary school fully equipped for the next phase of their life and the wider world.

Forest Park has a great foundation that is slowly being built upon with still further improvement. The school is heading in the right direction and has a bright future ahead.
