Feeling Good

The first couple of weeks at Forest Park seem to have flown by and everyone has settled extremely well into their new classes.  The sun filled summer holidays seem a distant memory, but the children have settled back into school life brilliantly.

I have been extremely impressed with the start to the new term and there is certainly a ‘feel good’ factor around the school at the moment – let’s hope it lasts the full year!  Pre-Prep are utilising their new interactive whiteboard and newly installed computers. Year 1 and Year 2 had a wonderful time during their trip to the beach at Southport and Year 5 and Year 6 have built wonderful relationships with their buddies in the EYFS. The recent ‘Meet the Teacher Evening’ was a great success and staff were able to share their plans for the year ahead.

Year 6 are nearing the end of their entrance examinations for the local grammar schools. We are very proud of all the children, they were calm and focused throughout their preparations this year. I am sure they have all done ‘their best’ which is all we can ask of them.

The whole school is full of smiles, laughter and learning at the moment and the children are keen to look forward to the many exciting activities still to come.  It promises to be a great year ahead and I look forward to experiencing more wonderful talents on offer at Forest Park.

In the words of Nina Simone “It’s a new dawn, it’s a new day, it’s a new life, for me and I’m feeling good.”
