Goodbye...

As an adult, I think time appears to go faster the older you get.  However, younger children struggle with the concept of time.  I have been asked weekly by a Reception child ‘Is it this week that you are retiring?’ Well, the time has arrived, and yes, this is the week I am retiring from Headship.  I have had an exciting and memorable time.  It has been a privilege to spend time with the children and watch them learn and grow.

I asked the children to come up with some ideas for how I might spend my retirement.  The more unusual of their ideas are list below.

Thank you for all your support.  I know Forest park Prep will continue to thrive under the leadership of Mr Tucker.

Thank you also for all the kind wishes and lovely gifts I have received this week.  It has been a wonderful send off!

Best wishes,

Mrs Horrocks

Hello...

I would like to thank all members of the school community for the warm welcome that I have received during my transition to Forest Park.  I have now had the opportunity to talk to all year groups and have been thoroughly impressed with all aspects of school life.  I have also met with many parents, staff and children and look forward to building relationships with you all in the coming weeks and months.  Mrs Horrocks has been very helpful with the handover for my new role and I wish her well with her retirement.  I will look out for your new pop career or local newsagents!

It is an exciting time to be taking over at Forest Park.  The School has built up an excellent reputation and the foundations are strong.  Children achieve to the best of their ability and are happy at school. I look forward to enhancing the experiences of all the children at the Forest Park even further.  With the assistance of a dedicated staff team and the help from supportive parents, I am sure that the school can continue to thrive and improve.

Enjoy your well-earned holiday and see you all in September.

Best wishes,

Mr Tucker
