Casting in Castleton!

Posted on May 14 2015

It was the event the Year 3 and Year 4 children had been looking forward to all year… the residential trip to Castleton.

Despite the weather being changeable, all our children showed great enthusiasm to try out all the outdoor team challenges and activities such as The Scavenger Hunt. The indoor activities included bread making, where the children enjoyed trying out their baking skills, and of course tasting it!

The delicious evening meal was eagerly eaten before trying out the evening activity of fossil casting.

After a good night’s sleep we enjoyed a hearty breakfast the next morning, setting us up for a four mile walk into the beautiful countryside surrounding Castleton. Although it was extremely wet, cold, muddy and rainy, all the children walked the distance with great enthusiasm.

Miss Robinson, Mrs Hall and I had a fantastic time with the children making it a very successful trip.
