Farewell to the Class of 2016

Posted on July 13 2016

There was not a dry eye in the house for the Year 6 Leavers' Assembly this morning.  We will leave you with a song they wrote for their performance...

3 Years Old

Once I was three years old,

My Mamma told me,

It’s time to go to Forest Park Preparatory

Once I was three years old.

By five, I’d made some friends.

All those who cared about me.

In time I knew that I would fit in well, school made me happy

Our class was having fun. We were learning quicker.

Helping each other, our team spirit was beginning to flicker.

Once I was 5 years old,

My story got told

I was in reception at Forest Park preparatory

Once I was 5 years old.

At 8 we’re in Year 3,

Now in the juniors,

Going to Castleton

walking so far and finding fossils

Our teacher back then was

Miss CorrIgen

We still remember things like ‘Grandma Rap’ from way back then.

Once I was 8 years old

My story got told

I was in Year 3 at Forest Park Preparatory.

Once I was 8 years old.

When we made Year 5, the 11+ got real,

Verbal, non-verbal and lots and lots of early classes,

We had mock exams, we worked even harder.

But there was still time for sport and trips and lots, lots more.

Once I was 10 years old.

My story got told.

I was in Year 5 at Forest Park Preparatory.

Once I was 10 years old.

Soon we’ll be leaving the school,

We will remember that it was cool.

We’ll be moving onto new and big adventures.

Soon we’ll be leaving the school.

I’m still learning about maths

My teachers brought number to me

So I can make a load of sums

And I will know the answers.

I got my English with me,

At least those I remember,

I hope it doesn’t leave me,

Because I will need it later.

Now I’m 11 years old,

My story got told.

My dreams, achievements in school lessons, sport and drama,

We started dreaming big and aiming for the greatest glory,

and  now we’re here to tell you all about our epic journey

Soon we’ll be leaving this school

Will I still think it is cool

Or will i miss my friends in sadness and in sorrow

Soon we’ll be leaving this school.

Soon we’ll be leaving the school

We will really miss you all,

Thank you to Miss Booth and ev’ryone who’s helped us,

Soon we’ll be leaving the school.

Now I’m eleven years old,

My story got told

I am in Year 6 at Forest Park Preparatory,

Now I’m eleven years old.

Now I’m eleven years old.
