PHSE in Early Years

Posted on September 30 2016

Over the last couple of weeks the children in Pre-Prep have been settling into school life and making friends.

Our PHSE (Personal, social, health and economic) lesson all about friendships and feelings involved a lovely story which talked about our different emotions. Mrs Smith introduced Jim to the children.  Jim was very shy but the children made him feel very welcome and happy.

Jim bought some friendship cards for the children to decorate and share with their friends.

In Reception the children have been talking about new beginnings as we welcome new pupils to Forest Park.

They have been discussing the school, and class, expectations of behaviour and creating a visual of class rules.  The children have been finding out lots of information about what their friends, like and dislike doing.  This is in preparation for our Plan, Do, Review sessions which will help them take ownership of their learning next term.
