When Pre-Prep Met Stan

Posted on March 23 2016

Q: Why do museums have old dinosaur bones?
A: Because they can't afford new ones!

Pre-Prep visited Manchester Museum last week as part of our dinosaur classroom topic.

The children thoroughly enjoyed the coach trip.  However, the highlight of the day for the staff was watching the awe on the children’s faces upon arrival; everyone was captivated by all the amazing sights.

Our trip involved exploring dinosaur bones and fossils, dressing up as explorers and meeting Stan the T-Rex.  In the main museum, we read dinosaur stories, went on an expedition to find and match the correct dinosaurs and artefacts to our worksheets, enjoyed mark making and drew Stan.

Lots of learning and exploring took place developing our knowledge and first-hand experience of dinosaurs.  A real blast from the past!
