Year 1 Science Afternoon

Posted on January 15 2016

Year 1 had a jam-packed science afternoon, experimenting with light and dark. We played hide and seek in our dark tent and hunted for different coloured figures. We discovered that dark colours are harder to see in the dark! We used a light box as a precursor to a future lesson, and explored whether the light would pass through different materials. Another of our experiments involved peering through small holes in a box and trying to guess what was inside. We varied the size of the holes and peered inside with and without torches. Mrs Hewitt didn’t manage a single correct guess without her torch!

We had enormous fun and the children are very much looking forward to our future experiments!
