Year 1 Science

Posted on May 20 2016

In Year 1, the children have been studying plants in their science lessons. They carried out an experiment, germinating their own broad beans and measuring their growth, and later compared their beans with broad beans grown in soil and the dark. The results provided lots of opportunity for discussion!

The children particularly enjoyed their plant hunt, inspecting the school grounds to identify different varieties of plants and to determine the differences between garden plants and wild plants. We were very fortunate to have chosen a sunny day!
