Year 1 Topic Work - Space

Posted on March 03 2017

Year 1 have thoroughly enjoyed our space topic this term.

We have linked our work to our English topic ‘fantasy worlds’ and the children have produced some wonderful work.  Our work was based on the story book, Beegu, which provided an excellent opportunity to learn about the structure of a story.   The children then progressed to writing their own alien stories.

Alongside English, the children have learnt about Neil Armstrong and astronauts and what they need to survive in space. They have also learnt the order of the planets and can describe how we get daytime and night time.

All the children have committed themselves enthusiastically to their task and have learnt much.  I am very proud of their achievements!
