Year 2 Class Assembly

Posted on June 24 2016

Who would've thought on a sunny, warm Tuesday morning in June, we would see the Year 2 children in their ski clothes, zookeeper costumes, lab coats and various animals costumes!  It can only mean one thing it’s a ….class assembly!

The children put together a performance to be proud of, sharing their learning with enthusiasm for all things polar!

The story unfolded as the Zookeepers introduced a polar bear to a penguin for the first time. How did they get here? What was the Arctic and Antarctic like? Who are these strange ‘human’ explorers and native people? How do the animals survive and adapt? What does the future hold for the Arctic?

Well the Year 2 children answered all these questions through a range of ‘Funky Facts’, ‘Expert ‘Scientist Research’, an Inuit dance, beautiful narration, talking animals and finally a traditional song to sum up their findings.

Well done to all the children in year 2 and may we take this opportunity to thank our super audience for laughing in all the right places! You have been a magnificent group of parents, truly supportive - your children are a credit to you all!
