In Year 2, the children have been busy learning about ‘Nocturnal Animals’ as part of their science topic.

They have looked at the habitats, diet, adaptations and life cycles of a variety of animals including owls, badgers, foxes and bats. They have studied the extended text ‘Plop, The Owl Who Was Afraid Of The Dark’ by Jill Tomlinson in their English lessons which allowed them to explore the characters, settings and story structure.

The theme ‘Nocturnal Animals’ has encompassed the art lessons where the children have enjoyed making clay owls, created night scenes and made owl mobiles.
