Year 3 Class Assembly

Posted on December 01 2016

Last week, it was the turn of Year 3 to present their wonderful assembly, ‘The Surprising Stone Age’.

Our confident narrators began by explaining exactly where the Neolithic era and Stone Age were on the timeline.

We had some super acting by our two ‘families’,  highlighting the huge differences of a modern family and a Stone Age one (“So Grut, you prefer the simple life do you?!”).

After this, the rest of the class were excited to share with their audience lots of amazing facts about this fascinating period of history.

Amazing Fact: Did you know that the people of that age were so desperate for food, that they would rip open the stomach of a hunted animal and eat the meal it had eaten, before it was killed?

The children have gained lots of knowledge about this era and this was enthusiastically demonstrated by their ‘cave painting’ and the presentation of a wonderful Skara Brae model house, as well as booklets which the class produced about this discovered settlement in the Orkney Isles.

To round off this fantastic assembly the children sang, with gusto, the very catchy song ’Two Piles of Stones’ which even got the parents joining in!

A super assembly Year 3, with a hugely confident performance by each and every one of you.
