Year 3 Trip to Tatton Park

Posted on November 13 2015

Last Friday, Year 3 went on their first trip of the school year.   As we are currently covering the topic, Early Man, the opportunity to go on a trip to find out more about this subject was too good to miss.

The day was spent at Tatton Park where we were looked after by Terry and Tracy.  During the morning, the children were shown how to be a hunter/gatherer  and were invited to build a wooden shelter, grind corn to make flour and utilise bones as tools to dig.

The afternoon sessions included pretending to be archaeologists by searching for artefacts and drawing with charcoal in a ‘cave’.

The day was a great success and all the children thoroughly enjoyed the experiences they gained from this trip.
