Charity Obstacle Course

After hearing about the heart-breaking symptoms that the sufferers endure on a day to day basis, Muscular Dystrophy UK was chosen as our final charity of 2017-18. We announced the charity event during our whole school assembly, we revealed that the children were going to participate in an obstacle course and that they needed to collect sponsorship money for the number of times they completed it. The children were so excited and determined to make sure that the final fundraising event was going to be the best one to date.

The day in July arrived and the excitement rose when the completed obstacle course was revealed on the back playground that Ruth McShane and her team from Bitesize Bootcamp had constructed. It consisted of a huge variety of obstacles including a tyre dash, monkey bars, a frame, a slip and slide and more!

After all the recent brilliant weather we had had during this term, unfortunately the weather that day decided to take a turn for the worse with heavy rainfall for a lot of the day however  this did not dampen the spirits of all the pupils that took part, in fact it made it more fun!

The children all joined in with great enthusiasm and showed fantastic endurance on a tricky course where some obstacles proved to be pretty challenging.

After collecting in all the monies from their sponsors and bringing it into school the final amount that we have been able to pass on to this worthy cause is truly amazing and is our highest total so far.

The total amount raised was £2,000!!!

Thank you so much for helping to raise this wonderful amount. It was a great success and we are so grateful for your on-going support. Many thanks go to Ruth and her team at Bitesize Bootcamp for organising the equipment and running the event on the day.

We look forward to sharing with you soon our new charity programme for the new academic year and thanks again for giving our events your support.

Mrs Moores and Miss Robinson.
