Early Years Nativity

Nativity plays are the best way to remember and preserve the story of how Christmas came to be and why we celebrate it.

At Forest Park we want children to know the main tenets and festivals of the major world religions. The Nativity ticks a lot of boxes and also focus’ children’s attention onto the more traditional and less consumer-driven aspects of the festive season. And of course the nativity is a fantastic story to tell through drama and music! The star that could not shine delighted audiences this year and was described as ‘magical’ and ‘the moment Christmas began’. The children all wondered the audience with their enthusiasm, confidence and cuteness overload! From patient Kings ridding their spirited camels to stupendous sparkling stars; Committed Shepherds that never lost their sheep and graceful angels with a very important message. Mary, Joseph and baby Jesus were a perfect picture inspiring the stars to shine and let’s not forget the dedicated Donkey that lay peacefully in the stable. Furthermore, the year 6 pupils were no longer needed, as the three Reception narrators astonished the crowd seamlessly narrating the story with flair and expression.

We hope this experience will be a treasured memory that the children will remember forever. We are sure parents were delighted to see their little ones in a nativity production and hope it brought back happy memories of their own experiences at school.

Huge congratulations to all the children in EYFS and a merry Christmas to all!
