European Languages Day

Posted on September 30 2015

At the initiative of the Council of Europe, Strasbourg, the European Day of Languages has been celebrated every year since 2001 on 26th September.

On the occasion of the day, a range of events are organised across Europe: activities for and with children, television and radio programmes, language classes and conferences.

This year, a fellow Bellevue school, Edenhurst in Newcastle-Under-Lyme, hosted a European Language Day on Friday 25th and invited Year 5 from Forest Park Prep, Forest Prep and Brabbyns along for an afternoon of European activities.

The children enjoyed the chance to meet with other Year 5 classes, discuss culture and language, learn a few new words and taste some yummy foods from a range of European countries. I think the buffet was the most enjoyed activity!

The children behaved impeccably throughout and we, as a school, were very proud of this and their enthusiasm during the activities.
