This week we continue our catch up with Forest Park alumni with Lily.

Sale Grammar School

 

What were your roles of responsibility at Forest Park Prep?

Deputy Head Girl

 

Were you a member of any sports team?

Athletics and girls’ football team

 

Did you take part in any music?

Flute, piano, choir and chorister choir

 

What house were you in?

Dunham

 

What skills have you transferred from Forest Park Prep to your secondary school?

My drama, LAMDA, singing, dancing, sport and academic skills

 

What was your overriding memory of Forest Park Prep?

Year 6 residential

 

What was your transition like from primary to secondary school?

Straightforward, although I didn’t go with anyone from Forest Park to my new school. I knew lots of my friends from extra-curricular activities and made new ones across the years

 

Have /Did you made/make lots of friends?  

Yes across the forms and the years too due to getting involved with concert band, drama and music at SGS.

 

What are your favourite subjects at school?

Drama, music and history

 

Which sports have you carried on with?

Netball, hockey, dance, gymnastics, trampolining and swimming

 

Do you enjoy your new school, what are your favourite parts?

Drama, concerts, orchestra and dance clubs – I recently won the junior vocalist category from years 7 to 9 in the Young Musician competition

 

What was it like returning to Forest Park Prep?

I return quite often as my brother Max is in Year 3 – It’s always great to see everyone

 

What was your favourite memory or experience whilst at Forest Park Prep?

Performing Sarah for Guys and Dolls show at the Garrick and becoming who I am through all the speech competitions, LAMDA and opportunities at FP

 

What differences are there between attending Forest Park Prep and your current school? 

Size! And different lessons with different teachers who are stricter at secondary school

 

Is there any advice you can share that will help the Year 6 children, when moving on to their new secondary schools? 

Choose what you want from a school rather than where your friends are going.  Make a good first impression and be nice to everyone then, enjoy it!
