Year 6 Celebrate Senior School Success

We are delighted to be celebrating another fantastic set of 11+ exam results, despite increasing competition for places at Trafford’s top grammar schools.

In total, 89% of Year 6 pupils passed a grammar school entrance exam with 80% securing grammar school places, the highest number since 2013.

Nick Tucker, Headteacher at Forest Park Preparatory School, said: “We are extremely proud of all of our children’s achievements this year and I would like to thank all the staff who have worked so hard in helping them to prepare for the entrance exams, as well as parents for their support. Forest Park has once again shown that our pupils are more than ready for the challenge with their ‘I can and I will’ attitude!”

The choice of senior school is taken very seriously by Forest Park and teachers will meet with parents personally to discuss this important transition, considering all aspects of potential schools from academic achievement to size, location and culture. There are also open evenings where past pupils come back to Forest Park and present to parents and children. The school has a very successful track record of pupils being offered places at the following schools and many others within the Greater Manchester area:

Altrincham Grammar School for Girls
Altrincham Grammar School for Boys
Sale Grammar School
Manchester Grammar School
Withington Girls’ School
Manchester High School for Girls
Cheadle Hulme School
Urmston Grammar School
North Cestrian Grammar School
Ashton on Mersey School
Stretford Grammar
St. Bede's College

Forest Park is currently able to consider children for entry to its Pre-Prep class from age three years, with a small number of places available in other year groups, including Reception, for September 2019.
