Forest Park Preparatory School hosts Animal Encounter

Posted on December 19 2014

As part of a special open event, children and parents enjoyed a close encounter with a wide variety of animals, when Oreo & Friends visited Forest Park Preparatory School.

Joined by family members and visitors to the school, pupils aged from three were introduced to a range of mammals, birds and creepy crawlies, learning a bit about each animal and where they came from, as well as having a chance to stroke and handle the animals.

Headteacher, Karen Horrocks, said: “Forest Park played host to an exciting variety of animals. Our Kindergarten children and our prospective families enjoyed learning about their native homes as well as handling them. It was amazing to see the children hold a python, cuddle a racoon and feed a meerkat. The desert fox and iguanas also enjoyed the attention, but the star of the morning was the baby armadillo!”
