On Friday 22 September, we held our first fundraiser of the year, for Jeans for Genes, and as always it was a great success!  Jeans for Genes Day is an annual fundraising campaign for Genetic Disorders UK, the national charity that supports individuals and families affected by a genetic disorder.  Monies raised on Jeans for Genes Day fund the work of the charity and provide grants to organisations for projects that aim to transform the lives of children with genetic disorders.

Across the school children wore denim as part of their uniform for the day.  Year 1 even designed their own jeans inspired by their friends.  Ms Beale made some special blue cakes for the day which the children thoroughly enjoyed.

We would like to thank you all for your £2 donations as we raised £324!

The money has gone to such a great cause.  With the money raised Genetic Disorders UK will be able to provide practical day-to-day support as well as special equipment for children with genetic disorders, for example, a wheelchair or frame to help them walk, or even a fun holiday for a child that may not be able to play with others.

We are already looking forward to our next charity fundraiser.

Thank you to all the Forest Park families for your continued support.
