The Resolution’s Here!

The Babylonians are said to have been the first people to make New Year’s resolutions, over 4,000 years ago. Since then, people all over the world have been making New Year’s resolutions to make their lives better for the New Year. Now, it’s our turn!

Oliver (Head Boy)

This year, the New Year’s resolution I have chosen is to concentrate more on my homework. I chose this New Year’s resolution so I can do my homework quicker, which means I can spend more quality time with my family. This would also allow me to do all the jobs that require doing around the house.

Emily (Head Girl)

This year my New Year’s resolution is to keep my bedroom tidy. I have been trying to stop my room from getting messy for a long time and it is now an opportunity to keep this promise and to keep my bedroom clean. If my bedroom is tidy, I will have more space to practise dancing and other activities I enjoy. This would also make it easier for people to get in and out of my bedroom if they need to. This is a perfect New Year’s resolution for me and I will try my best to keep it.

Vincent (Deputy Head Boy)

This year, my New Year’s resolution is to try and do more jobs around the house. I came up with this resolution so that my Mum and Dad don’t have to do all of the jobs. It would mean the world to them and make things ten times easier in my house.

Annie (Deputy Head Girl)

This year, my New Year’s resolution is to only read one book at a time. I would like to do this because then I will understand the storyline better and it will make me never want to put the book down. If I use this method all year, not only will I complete my New Year’s resolution but I will also be able to read more books as I will be able to concentrate fully on each one.
