Pre-Prep Buddy Walk

At Forest Park, we utilise the buddy system in our Early Years classes, Pre-Prep with Year 5 and Reception with Year 6.  The children benefit immensely from being or having a role model. They engage in positive shared experiences during the course of the year. Through this, children learn the values: caring for others, friendliness, respect, valuing difference, including others and responsibility.

Although the children may not be aware of the philosophy behind the system, they feel the benefits and the smiles we see when they are engaged in an activity together are priceless.

This week Pre-Prep went on an adventure to the local post box, for a very special reason.  Year 5 were excited to join their buddies to help them post their letters to Father Christmas in Lapland!

We prepared for the adventure by talking to the children about road safety and then off we went.   The children were thrilled to be posting their letters and are keeping everything crossed that Father Christmas delivers!

Pre-Prep are looking forward to their next buddy adventure.
