Sporting Achievements for Forest Park

It has been a fantastic couple of weeks for sporting achievements at Forest Park, with success both in the pool and on the football pitch. Last Friday, Vincent (Year 6), Megan (Year 6), Imogen (Year 6) and Georgia (Year 5) took part in the annual ESSA Relay Championships at Everton Park, Liverpool. The children swam in two relay competitions, one freestyle and one mixed stroke, against some very strong teams but I am very pleased to say we have qualified to represent the North of England in the National Finals. This will take place at Ponds Forge on Saturday 15 June. We wish the team the best of luck and will keep you updated on the results.

This week the Under 9 Football Team took part in the ISA North Knockout Cup Finals. The team successfully progressed through four group stages to reach the final.  This meant they were already one of the top three teams in the north. In our first game, we played Lady Barn House and won 4-0, but unfortunately lost our game against Bridgewater. The standings in the table at the end of the tournament placed us runners up of the north, so silver medals for the team.  Thank you to Mr Rowe for training the team and supporting them on the day.

Once again I would like to thank all the parents for their tremendous help and cheerleading at our sporting events. We really appreciate your continued support. We have lots more events over the next term, such as the Brabyns World Cup, ISA Athletics, Trafford Dodgeball, KS1 & 2 FPPS swimming galas and boys and girls cricket tournament.  And let’s not forget about Sports Day on Thursday 27th June. This year we will be at Longford Park Stadium in Chorlton. Early Years and Key Stage 1 will be at 10.00am and Key Stage 2 at 1.30pm. See you there!
