Sporting Success

Well done to the Year 4 and 5 girls and boys swimming teams, who took part in the Trafford Swimming Finals this Wednesday.

We were very lucky to arrive at the finals in one piece and not as an ice sculpture as we got caught up in a freezing blizzard with snow blowing directly into our faces but we couldn’t forget our motto - I can and I will get to the finals!

It was great to take both teams to the finals as we originally thought it was only the girls’ team that had qualified.  As always the children had true Forest Park spirit and gave their all in the competition.  The children also displayed excellent sportsmanship by supporting the other teams participating.

Congratulations on the girls’ team for placing 5th and the boys’ team for placing 7th.

We wish the Year 5 and 6 swimming team the best of luck for the ESSA Regional Relay Championships next Friday at Everton Park in Liverpool.  Fingers crossed we will finish in the top 3 and qualify for the national finals to represent the north of England in June.
