The sporting fixtures are certainly coming in thick and fast in our first half term.

Forest Park pupils have taken part in three football tournaments, one netball tournament and one water polo tournament all in one week, with Cross Country still to come tomorrow!

The first football tournament took place at Cheadle Hulme School in conjunction with Everton Football Club, and was a brand new event for Forest Park.  The Year 4 and 5 team played in four tight fixtures, against some very big schools, and we are so proud of their efforts and team spirit.

Whilst the footballers were on the pitch, the swimmers from Year 5 and 6 were competing in the ISA Water Polo competition at Middleton Arena.  They were runners up of their league and were drawn against the reigning champions of the last three years in the semi-finals.  With true Forest Park spirit, they gave it their all and were crowned winners of the semi-final.  The team then went up against a very tough team from Forest Prep School who narrowly pipped us to the cup.  Special mention to Vincent, Year 5, for scoring all the goals!

The Under 11 football team took part in the first two matches of the Sale & Partington League this week at Crossford Bridge.  We won our first game 2-0 and came from behind to draw 1-1 in our second game.  It was wonderful to see Joe, Year 4, get the best birthday present by scoring his first goal in the league!  We look forward to our next two matches.

Please look out for the results for the St Bede’s Football & Netball Prep Challenge on Facebook later today.
