Sporting Achievements

It’s been a very busy couple of weeks in the sporting world of Forest Park, with some great achievements.

We started with the ISA Swimming Gala at Macclesfield and as ever the children showed their Forest Park spirit, grit, and determination. Well done to all the children who took part in a very competitive afternoon. A special mention to Vincent (Year 6), Georgia (Year 5) and Will (Year 4) for qualifying for the ISA National Swimming Finals in the London Olympic Pool, not only to represent Forest Park but also the whole of the North of England. We wish them the best of luck and don’t forget to keep an eye on Facebook this weekend for the results.

On the same day, our cross country runners took part in the final meet of the Sale & Altrincham League. The children ran their stripy socks off and made Mr. Tucker extremely proud.

Next stop was the Middleton Arena, where we took part in the Beech House Swimming Gala. The children won lots of bronze, silver and gold medals meaning that overall we finished in second place out of ten teams. We were narrowly beaten by just six points by our local rivals Forest Prep. Mrs. Pawson is pretty sure the gold is in our sights for 2019. Let’s see what next year brings!

The Year 5 and 6 Athletics Team took part in the annual Trafford Sports Hall Athletics which comprised of both track and field events. This event is always very challenging as we are drawn against a lot of large schools in Trafford. This year we achieved a fantastic second place overall. An amazing afternoon and a thoroughly deserved result!

Good luck to the Year 1 footballers who have travelled to Manchester City Football Club for a football festival today. Please look out for updates on Facebook. Tomorrow the runners will take part in the Sale Harriers Cross Country and next week our Under 9 and Under 11 teams play in the first round games of the ISA Knockout Football Cup. Let’s hope we progress to the next round.
