The Feelings Monster

One day, Colour Monster wakes up feeling very confused. His emotions are all over the place; he feels angry, happy, calm, sad and scared all at once! To help him, a little girl shows him what each feeling means through colour.

To help the Colour Monster Year 1 put their feelings into jars and talked about how we can help each other to feel happy if we are sad, scared or cross. We also talked about what makes us happy, calm and loving.

Each morning we start off the day by checking in and talking about our feelings.  Some days we colour our own monsters to match our feelings and write a sentence to match. Each week we focus on different aspects of our mental health and wellbeing. We explore yoga, breathing techniques, mindfulness activities and thinking positively about ourselves.
