The Nowhere Emporium

This term Year 5 have been studying The Nowhere Emporium, a fantasy fiction book by Ross MacKenzie about a magical shop that appears in a street in Glasgow.

A few weeks ago we told you all about the work they have been doing in class.

The final step of their journey has now been completed as the children have come full circle with their stories.

The brief was to create suspense through a variety of literary devices such as use of metaphors, similes, expanded noun phrases, ellipsis, a variety of sentence structures and high level vocabulary.

The children thoroughly enjoyed creating their masterpieces and were constantly self and peer assessing the work to get it to be the best it could possibly be.  The results were fantastic and I was so proud that we have created our own class books.

Take a look at their work here.
