Year 2 Residential Trip

Posted on May 17 2017

This week Year 2 went on a fantastic residential trip to Burwardsley.

Having returned to school on Tuesday afternoon I think we have all recovered but we had lots of fun doing lots of different activities.

On the way to Burwardsley we stopped off for a delicious ice cream at The Ice Cream Farm in Chester.  Everyone agree that it was very tasty, if a bit chilly!

Upon arriving at our destination our first task was to take a lovely walk up Blossom Hill, before working together to create some fantastic dens using items we found in the forest.

We got back to our accommodation for the night to unpack and then took part in some willow weaving which the children really enjoyed. The children finished off the evening with singing around the camp fire and indulging in some delicious toasted marshmallows.

After such a busy day we all settled down to a much needed sleep in the dormitories.

On our second day at Burwardsley we spent lots of time outdoors, pond dipping and mini beast racing. The children had lots of fun on the fantastic adventure playground, playing football games with Mr Tucker and tig with Miss Baldwin. It’s safe to say the children had a ball!

Everyone returned to Forest Park a little tired (staff included!), but all the children really enjoyed themselves, which was evident in the big smiles on their faces.  If we could sum up the trip we would say there was laughter, fun times and new adventures!  All the children were so well behaved, polite and enthusiastic. It really was a great success and the children have some lovely stories to tell.

We look forward to telling you some of those during our class assembly on Tuesday 27 June.
