Year 3 & 4 Trip to Yorkshire Sculpture Park

Posted on June 24 2016

After Imogen’s wonderful Show and Tell about her visit to Yorkshire Sculpture Park, it sounded like a great place to visit.

As budding artists, the children were all keen to show off their creative talents.

The morning began with Sally the artist, taking us around part of the park looking at sculptures by the American artist KAWS and other talented sculptors. The children had the chance to sketch some of these wonderful creations including a digital moving horse!

After lunch, it was time for the children to get creative.  Using a huge variety of objects such as drainpipes, wooden blocks and metal poles ( to name but a few), Sally asked each group to create an animal/ machine. The results were fantastic! All children worked wonderfully as a team to produce some really imaginative pieces.

It was an extremely successful trip to end our school year, where yet again the children at Forest Park represented our school brilliantly.
