Year 3 Topic Work

It has been an exciting few weeks for Year 3, working on their latest English topic, Myths and Legends.

The children have heard stories of old from all over the globe including Kwang–Li and the Dragon, Theseus and the Minotaur, Icarus and Daedalus and The Loch Ness Monster.. They also keenly shared stories they had researched from a different corner of the world.

From these stories they were able to identify the key features of these types of stories where good usually defeated evil and magic often played a key part.

Finally it culminated in the children planning and writing a Myth and Legend of their own. They tried hard to include all the important ingredients that made up an exciting story and they could also showcase their skills as illustrators. These wonderful pieces of work have now been put together in one collective book which I know the children will love to read and share during our quiet reading times.
