Year 4 Enjoy A Roman Workshop

This term, the children in Year 4 have been learning about the Romans. In their humanities topics, they have been focusing on how the Romans invaded and settled in different places, along with learning facts about Italy and Italian culture.

Today the children have taken part in a Roman workshop, specifically exploring Roman towns and metalwork. They have carried out lots of activities including some research, art and design technology. One of our class activities was to create a replica model of a Roman town. Each child was given an area/building to focus on and worked independently to create their piece to contribute to the whole class model. The children thoroughly enjoyed this activity and worked extremely hard.

This all day workshop has provided the children with the opportunity to develop their knowledge and understanding of Roman history further from a very knowledgeable visitor in a fun, exciting and practical way.
