Links with the Community

Forest Park Preparatory School strives to forge and maintain strong links with the community. We actively raise our pupils' awareness of the less fortunate.

Our commitment to fundraising and raising awareness of those less fortunate is closely linked to our PSHE curriculum and is supported through our pastoral assemblies.

The children have the responsibility, under the direction of the Pupil Council, for researching and choosing each year’s charity programme.

Each half term, a charitable organisation is chosen and the pupils organise events to raise both awareness and money. They aim to choose a diverse range of charities based both in the UK and abroad; the majority of chosen charities are for children and are therefore of particular relevance to our pupils.

Every year, our Year 6 children visit our elderly friends at St Michael's Court to perform a wonderful array of festive songs and also enjoy a visit to their buddies at The Being There Charity Group based at The Citadel where they team up to make Christmas decorations.
