Pre Prep Curriculum

Pre-Prep at Forest Park

Our Pre-Prep in Sale is for children aged three to four in the important year before Reception, providing a natural next step between Nursery and school. Children continue to learn through purposeful play and exploration, alongside more structured opportunities to develop early literacy, mathematics, communication and independence. With the support of our experienced team and specialist teaching, we help every child build the confidence, curiosity and skills they need to feel happy and well prepared for their transition into Reception.

Autumn: Term One

Topic
All About Me

Communication and Language
Group games learning peers’ names. Talk about healthy fruit and veg, hygiene and golden rules.

Personal, Social and Emotional Development
Settling in. Rules & routines. Socialising & friendships. Feelings. Talk about smiling and what makes you smile.

Physical Development
Gross motor skills – chalk, drawing and painting. P.E planning with specialist teachers. Fine motor activities – dough gym.

Literacy
Phase 1 Environmental Sounds. Can you find your name card and write your name?

Mathematics
Finger rhymes using numbers. Counting to 20. 2D shapes. Recognising numbers.

Understanding the World
Use mirrors to describe facial features. Body parts. Tasting session of healthy fruit and veg (science). Buddies weekly activity.
